Well, its the middle of the holiday season. Even our politicians have joined our holiday obsessed society and gone on leave. The result is a distinct lack of cartoon worthy news stories. Having just demolished a couple of slices of chocolate pie, hit on this idea of trying to support the efforts to get drivers to buckle up over the Christmas period. Already we have road fatalities of over 900 this season in South Africa and we're only halfway through the season!

in poor taste

The story was about TV cameras set up at Nelson Mandela's country home by news services, including Reuters, in anticipation of his passing away. Some say illegal but definitely in poor taste. Well, this is the cartoon comment I submitted that was deemed as, you guessed it, in poor taste. I respect my editor's veto powers and subsequently did a watered down version of the concept. I thought I would place the concept drawing here so you can judge for yourself. Political correctness and humour are in the eye of the reader. I thought it was funny.
