Kill the boer, kill the farmer

Aaaah Julius. From one career involving bull$#!*€ to another. You are indeed a gift to cartoonists.

rhino payback

This is part of a fund raising campaign I got involved in. White rhinos are being slaughtered by poachers in SA to feed the market in China for rhino horn. Human greed and vanity at its worst. The poachers kill a magnificent wild animal worth R 500 000 and, if caught, pay a R 10 000 fine. No wonder the slaughter continues. I say, put the poachers or Chinese hunters in a boma with an angry rhino and see who comes off second best then!

red tape

How do you sort out a department that manages to lose billions? Oh what a tangled web they weave.

Black Tuesday

Today is the day the ANC showed the true colour of their collective soul - dark.

muzzling free speech the ANC way

This cartoon is based on that infamous National Lampoon cover that states "Buy this magazine or we'll shoot this dog". Of course the ANC is saying "buy this stupid bill and we'll kill democracy".

Well, they'd never admit that things are going backwards, but...

The hidden dangers are lurking despite what happens on the surface.

dishonourable members

Why can't the ruling party get their members to keep their members in their pants? I suppose they've learnt from the top, but my question is, can't they rather put all that extra energy into doing their jobs properly instead?

walkies

Just one of the strips I submit occasionally to the health/spiritual magazine Odyssey.

Sideswiped

He was always an accident waiting to happen. The only sad faces are those of the country's political cartoonists!

ahoy land blubber!

As the ANC sails off on a voyage of excessive expenditure (estimated at over R 100 million) to celebrate the party's centenary, our thoughts turn to that excess baggage that might be left behind. In fact, I took a chance to submit this cartoon before Malema had in fact been dumped. Thanks to the cartoon gods that my faith was justified and he's been set adrift in the political doldrums for the next five years.

Don't touch me on my song

Guess who's singing a different tune now ?

Police farce

Police have threatened to enforce a ban on public drinking at a popular local outdoor area in East London. Apart from a greater police presence nothing will get done. This cartoon is just a tongue in cheek spin on the whole situation.

The tribe has spoken

Tribalism is alive and well and living in Africa. Manguang should be interesting.

In flight entertainment

Flew up to Johannesburg for the Vodacom Journalist of the Year awards. I flew on 1time so there were no free drinks to keep me entertained. This was the next best option. Congratulations to Jerm, who draws for the New Age, who won the cartoonist category.

Ron caricature

Local Haulier and namesake, Ron Miles (no relation)with his pride and joy.

Stepping on toes

Hey Mr. President, you lead the government, not the constitution. Leave the judiciary alone or you might just find yourself voted out!

Hey govt. - take a hike!

The belt is so tight now I can't even reach the accelerator any more, let alone drive!

Young lion's Emperor or empty roar ?

Thanks to my editorial colleague for the initial concept. Thanks Dawn, it really hit the spot. Julius seizes, now we just wait for him to be stabbed in the back, as has always happened in politics. Just ask his namesake.
