Burning issue

These two stories appeared separately on consecutive days and gave me the opportunity to combine them and point, yet again, at the pathetic service delivery in our province. Now, before anyone threatens to burn me at the stake, I am not pointing fingers at our brave fire fighters but at the idiots who deprive them of the tools to do their job properly. Clearly, someone should be fired !

Welcome to East London, locally known as Slummies - and, boy, is it living up to its nickname! BCM is embroiled in an ongoing mess of dumpsite fires, irregular refuse collection, ongoing litter problem and landfills that are full. In addition, due to cadre deployment and other political interference, including tender irregularities etc. BCM has yet to achieve a clean audit. Time to clean up your act, BCM!
