Golden parachutes

Its hard to fathom - our national airline has had five CEOs in six years, each outdoing the previous in uselessness and corruption, and yet they all bail out with a golden parachute to soften the landing. You're supposed to be uplifting the nation, not your corrupt comrades!

Shout out at the DA corral

Helen Zille is stepping down as leader of the official opposition, and so things are starting to hot up in the DA camp as her successors lobby for support.  Wilmot James, current chairperson of the DA is up against the current parliamentary leader, Mmusi Maimane. Apparently, they are going to slug it out in a public debate. Should be interesting.

Wishful thinking

Transnet CEO Brian Molefe has been seconded to try and get Eskon back on track. He might be huffing and puffing and we're certainly not holding our collective breath.

Dark days ahead

Adding to the gloom (literally) is the load shedding currently happening throughout the country.  An inconvenience for most people, it is devastating to the economy.  Scary stuff indeed.

Afrophobia

Scary times in the streets of Durban.  So much hatred and anger in this country right now!

Tendora's Box

The stories are going around about the BCM municipal manager interefering with the municipal tender box concerning a R 100 million road construction tender. Once the demons are out, they never go away.

Throwing in the towel

Big news today is the DA leader's announcement that she is stepping down as leader of the official opposition.  Interesting to see what transpires as all the other DA libs weigh in asgthey jockey for position. Politicians, gotto hate them - I do.

Humpty Numpty

Will he fall or wont he? All of a sudden the CIC isn't looking so confident with his shaky financial background catching up with him and his troops getting a bit restless. Now he knows what its like to fight for financial freedom.

Service call

The telephone system was upgraded but nobody thought to make sure the new numbers were distributed.  For six months, nobody has been able to phone the Office of the Premier because the numbers were redundant and nobody answered.  This is the HEAD of our local government.

All spun out

Finally Mac Maharaj is calling it a day as Zuma's spin doctor. He says he needs to slow down. Understandable under the circumstances, jumping from Zuma crisis to Zuma scandal.  Tired of lying, Mac? Go and have a nice lie down.

Horse sense (not)

On the heels of the Rhodes statue protest at UCT, the EFF has decided to go on a trail of vandalizing colonialist statues.  The band of bright sparks decided to break this statue commemorating the horses that suffered during the Anglo Boer war.  I reckon the horses suffered more at the hands of our predecessors than the so called freedom fighters ever did.

number one with a bull***t.

Apparently it's more important to spend R2 billion on new presidential jets than to fix some of the problems in the country.  Why fly around the world trying to sort out the problems of other countries when there is so much wrong back home. Oh well, another middle finger from number one. Maybe his wives just want to go shopping.

Heavy burden

Life just seems to get tougher and tougher here in Buffalo City. A small number of ratepayers carrying a vast majority of indigents or defaulters.  Something has to give.

Touchy subject

Interesting to cover an international story. Having to read up and digest all the varying opinions and come up with something that is hopefully different and original is quite a challenge.
