Weird and wonderful topics

Looking back on a week's worth of work, it always amazes me what crazy things our politicians get up to and what I have to draw to try and get a laugh out of them.

Flirting with justice

He admitted that he married another woman while already married.  He tampered with graves and was forced to rebury remains of his ancestors. However, the NPA finds that there is not enough evidence to prosecute ? Seems like with the right family name you can get away with anything!

Bully boys

These two cartoons were produced on consecutive days dealing with the same subject, the faceoff between Public Protector Thuli Madonsela and the govt. security cluster over the publication (or not) of the infamous Nakndla Report.  At the eleventh hour the top cartoon was pulled because it was deemed inappropriate to depict someone as a dog in African culture.  Personally, if our esteemed president would call of his attack dogs , there would be no cause to depict them in this guise. The bottom cartoon attempts to depict our brave PP taking on the intimidation and offensive posturing of our government leaders.

Cross patch

Bit of a weird situation where the people are boycotting voter registration in order to get themselves heard about poor service delivery. Surely you register and vote in order to get the government of your choice to sort out service delivery? I usually hate drawing such detailed cartoons but for some reason I quite enjoyed drawing this one. Pity to dump a speech bubble right on top.
